27/03/2008   Personal Attack Alarm Systems - Cutting back on false alarms.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) is getting even tougher on false alarm activation. Now verification and confirmation of personal alarm activations are required before deploying police officers to attend incidents. Expect to see another round of upgrades to your intruder alarm installations when ACPO publish their revised Police Response to Security Systems at the end of this month (March 2008).

An informative article "Briefing Papers - Personal Attack Alarm Systems" appears in this months publication Security Management Today which is also published on their website Info4Security news pages: http://www.info4security.com/story.asp?sectioncode=10&storycode=4117675

The full amendment ACPO "Police response to security systems" is not yet available but is expected to be published very soon on the ACPO website at http://www.acpo.police.uk/policies.asp - this currrently displays their last policy which will soon be updated with the new one.

Meanwhile this article provides an insight of what is to come!
